    Diagnostic Hysteroscopy & Laparoscopy

When standard tests can't fully explain why pregnancy isn't happening, a diagnostic hysteroscopy and laparoscopy give your doctor a direct, real-time look inside your uterus and pelvic cavity. Both are minimally invasive, performed through tiny openings, and usually done as a same-day procedure. Together, they can identify fibroids, polyps, scar tissue, endometriosis or blocked tubes that scans alone may miss.

    01

    Pre-Procedure Evaluation

Routine pre-anaesthesia checks - bloods, ECG if appropriate, and a clear conversation about what we're looking for. Most patients are admitted the morning of the procedure.

    02

    Anaesthesia

Performed under general anaesthesia for your comfort. Modern, short-acting agents mean you wake up alert with minimal grogginess.

    03

    Hysteroscopy - Inside the Uterus

A thin camera (hysteroscope) is gently passed through the cervix into the uterus. There are no cuts. Your doctor inspects the uterine cavity for fibroids, polyps, scar tissue or shape abnormalities.

    04

    Laparoscopy - Inside the Pelvis

Three to four small keyhole incisions (5 mm) on the abdomen allow a high-definition 3D laparoscope inside the pelvic cavity. The surgeon inspects the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes and surrounding tissues.

    05

    Treat-as-You-Find Approach

Small issues identified during the diagnostic procedure - like a polyp, a small fibroid, mild endometriosis or a minor adhesion - can often be treated in the same session, sparing you a second surgery.

    06

    Documentation & Findings

The procedure is recorded with high-definition images. Your doctor walks you through the findings in your follow-up consultation, in plain language.

    07

    Same-Day Discharge

Most patients go home the same evening. Light activity within 5 to 7 days, normal routine within 1 to 2 weeks. Specific recovery advice is personalised to your case.
